From Dorset with Love (Collection & Giveaway)

Corfe Castle by Clare Devine (modelled by Me!). Image © Kate O'Sullivan
It's true that life imitates art. A few months ago I headed to what felt like the edge of the world* to visit my friend - blogger, photographer and all-round inspiration, Kate O'Sullivan (aka A Playful Day). Kate was photographing a new knitting collection from her friend Clare Devine, which was designed to celebrate a road-trip they had previously taken together. We had a truly wonderful weekend filled with laughter - and simultaneous tears - great food, new friendships, a bit of wine and chocolate (and multiple 'earworms' courtesy of Ed Sheeran), but I digress. I also got to try out the new collection!

From Dorset with Love consists of six beautiful knitting patterns - two pairs of socks, mitts, a hat, a shawl and cardigan. Clare's designs are as comforting to wear as they are to knit - a celebration of the beauty of simplicity - how basic stitches can combine to create the most lovely textured items. (Regular readers will know just how much this appeals to me!)

The simple lines of each piece are highlighted by the scrumptious yarns used. Clare chose Eden Cottage Titus DK, Ginger Twist Studio Sheepish Aran, travelknitter Merino DK, Ripples Crafts Doubly Reliable Sock Yarn and Phileas Yarns Wanderlust DK and they combine to make this a cohesive collection of wearable wardrobe staples.

All six patterns (the four featured here plus two sock patterns) are available individually or as a complete collection on Ravelry and each includes a delightful memory from Clare, relating to the design inspiration. I think you will love to make and wear these designs and am delighted to tell you that Clare has offered the following prizes for a giveaway:

First prize is an ebook of the ENTIRE collection, plus THREE runners-up will win a single pattern of their choice from Dorset with Love. To be in with a chance, all you have to do is to leave a comment on this post before midday (BST) on 21st June 2017, telling me your favourite pattern from the collection (see them all here) and your Ravelry user name - without this we can't send you the prize, so don't forget. Good luck!

*It was actually Dorset but, my mum was stalking me on Find Friends and panicked that I'd fallen into the sea, as my location was so remote.
