Last Dance on the Beach Crochet-along - Week 12

Well here it is, folks. The final motif! After this one, all that remains is joining and edging. Are you up to date? With quite a lot of squares to make (you can see mine on Instagram) I've been thinking that it might be really nice to finish them at an actual beach on our holiday, so I'm holding off making too many right now. It's important to me to enjoy the process of each square of this special project rather than rushing through for the sake of finishing 'on time'. Anyway, let's take a look at this week's pattern...

THE MOTIF:

This week's pattern is another inspired by ripples on the water and sand, and it is a stitch pattern that I've been really looking forward to trying out - I might have to make 'just one' this week.

THE DESIGNER:

If you've been on the CAL Facebook groups (listed below), you'll already be acquainted with Tammy who has been doing an amazing job as group Moderator (not a task for the feint-hearted!) while also having an operation, selling her house and all sorts of other major life changes. On her blog - Canadutch Crafts - Tammy has written about what this Cal has meant to her - do pop over and take a look.

As Tammy's blog name suggests, she is a Canadian living in the Netherlands (with her Dutch husband) and you can see in this picture I snapped of Tammy (right, accidentally co-ordinating with Dedri) she is primarily a 'knitter'. Not only was this her first crochet design, it was her first EVER design.

THE PATTERN:

- Right- and left-handed videos can be found on the pattern download page for your language and on 'It's All in A Nutshell' blog.
- See other people's squares in the official Facebook groups set up for  International (English language) and Dutch Scheepjes customers, where there are lots of additional hints, tips, chat etc.
- The Instagram tags are #lastdanceonthebeach and #Scheepjescal2016 - use these when you post, so we can see your progress!
- Scheepjes yarn stockists in the UK are Wool Warehouse* and Deramores*. I wrote a comparison of the yarns used here

(Incidentally, if you enjoy making this sqaure, you might like my forthcoming Soundwaves Cowl pattern, which is suitable for crochet beginners - sneak peek here - it's with testers this week so stay tuned for the release!)
