How does your location influence your craft? Does access to materials limit the things you make? Or perhaps your climate varies considerably so that your crafting throughout the seasons looks very different. To some extent seasonal changes probably affect us all, but it got me wondering about YOU, dear reader, and what interesting things you might be able to show and tell about your craft.
So this summer I'm inviting you to share your experience with the CftC community in two different ways. First something we can all join in with - a 'hashtag project' which we can all use to share photos on social media (the hashtag will be announced) and secondly, by publishing a selection of guest posts from readers whose location influences their craft.
Maybe you live in an area with a strong crafting tradition and you'd like to share that. Are you living away from 'home' and that's changed your habits? Or perhaps you are an independent dyer or spinner using local materials, or a designer drawing on your surroundings for inspiration. You don't need to be a professional, or to have ever written a blog - I'm interested in hearing from any readers who feel they have an interesting story to share (this is a lovely example from a couple of years ago when I invited readers to submit a post).
The project will run throughout August, so submissions will need to be completed during July. If you'd like to be considered for one of the slots, please get it touch by 30th June with an outline of your post idea and a bit about you and your location. I'm really looking forward to hearing from you.
oeh Like that a lot!
ReplyDeleteI'm curious what story's come up :)
Hi Jellina, I'm so glad you like it! I think there are some lovely stories out there, just waiting to be told. I am really excited by some of the guests I have lined up already and can't wait to see who else gets in touch :D x
