DECORATING: Papier Mache Deer
Sadly there is not much change from last Wednesday's update - Christmas preparations seem to have stolen any crafting time so the second sleeve of my FLS is yet to be started (today, definitely today!) and Pi has only just set off from India in the boat, so I must be about a third of the way through the book. Why can't there be more hours in the day?
Yesterday these cute reindeer arrived from Homecrafts. Little Miss and I have plans to decorate them in time for Friday's FO post. If you'd like to have a go yourself, I have another set to giveaway - just leave a comment stating what you'd do with them (glitter? decoupage? paint? crochet?) and a winner will be randomly selected on Friday. The competition is open to all until 9am GMT and I'll do my best to post the same day as soon as I have your address so please ensure you leave a way of contacting you. It's unlikely to get to you before Christmas unless you are in the UK but I am happy to post anywhere. GOOD LUCK! ENTRY IS NOW CLOSED!
PS - Are you an Instagrammer? If so, I'd love to know what you think about the proposed changes which I blogged yesterday. Please take a look and leave your comments.
Those reindeer are so cute (I have a lot of reindeer in my Christmas decorating scheme) and I would totally steampunk them because that would be awesome ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the reindeer. I think I would turn it into a family activity and arm the kids with paint, glue and glitter.
ReplyDeleteI would most definitely let the kids at them..one for my girl, one for my boy...probably on a newspaper covered picnic table. I'll have assign array of pains, Christmas stamps, and various scrapbooking materials for them to use. Glitter is strictly forbidden in my house lol so no glitter (yes yes, I'm a mean mommy! But I'm a mean mommy with shag carpet a la 1972!! lol!) When they're dry, my husband and I would decorate the opposite sides..then seal them. And ta-DA! Table decorations!
ReplyDeleteI would love to decorate those with some modge podged christmas wrapping.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win xxxx
I think I'd decoupage them, or at least one of them and maybe send the other to my son and daughter-in-law.She is a tattoo artist and I bet she could do a very individual reindeer!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to decoupage the reindeer!
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness, you've given so many great ideas for ways to decorate these deer! I would certainly have to try knitting them into a coozy!
ReplyDeleteI'd panit them naturalistic and incorporate them in my Nativity scene. I have made plywood cows, camels and sheep, but reindeers, no. They're awesome.
ReplyDeleteI would re-gift them to my special needs niece...and we would decorate them by her wishes...
ReplyDeleteI did read your post about the changes on instagram..I am not a user of any social media other than my blog because I can never keep track of their policies..Thanks for the information..
