It's finished. Finally. Oh, and *cough* it took just under 400g (the extra ball and worry about the different dye lots was for naught). I don't really love it - it's not really the right shape for me - but the yarn is so snuggly and warm I'm sure it'll get a lot of use over the coming months. After 10 minutes trying to get a decent self-taken shot, and then asking the 3 year old who didn't do much better, I'm afraid this is the best we could manage.

I'll be blogging over Christmas (although not to my usual schedule) so I hope to see you around next week, but for anyone visiting for the last time this year, and for those who are popping in from Tami's:
HAPPY WINTER SOLSTICE!
It looks super cozy. Lovely job.
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic Christmas Sarah. Look forward to reading all about it.

Thanks Gilly - you too xxx
DeleteThe yarn and color are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI knitted one last year but I never used...
The color was baby yellow and I did not like it :-(
So I gave it to my mother-in-law...
It's great that someone got to use it. :)
DeleteOh how disappointing to finish a sweater and then not like the way it looks. Really, it's what puts me off sweater knitting altogether. Your knitting is gorgeous - as always -and the yarn is beautiful, so I hope the sweater finds the perfect wearer :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy Merry Merry!
Thanks - I'll keep it, but it's just not all that wonderful on me :)
DeleteHappy merry to you too :D
Sorry you don't like it, that must be so disappointing.
ReplyDeleteI worry about spending ages making something for myself and then it not suiting my shape, that's why I usually just make things for my girls because everything seems to suit them.
I know what you mean - I tend to only knit clothing for Little Miss for the same reason. I'll wear this, but it's not very flattering on me - I think it would suit someone with a less curvy figure much better!
DeleteIt looks great!! A bit disappointing that you aren't thrilled with it, but now you know another style you don't like, right? :)
ReplyDeleteLove the yarn :) Shame you aren't as thrilled with it as you could be - maybe it's the buttoning only at the top style? I'm never 100% convinced by those.
ReplyDeleteI so wish I could have seen the 3 year old trying to take the picture - next time you should share the pictures anyway ;)
I wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas (to you and your family) in case I'm not around. Also, check out my blog for a special merry christmas just for you ;)

Hooray on finishing this sweater. Mayhap you could wear a belt with this for some shape. Hope you had a Mele Kalikimaka with your ohana.
