I love Pinterest and pin many things I intend to try. This one actually made it.

It was surprisingly easy to make the bun and it stayed in well for the whole day as I used a few bobby pins to secure it in place. I have yet to perfect sock-bun curls (I made the hair too wet so it was still damp in the morning and the curls fell out). Must keep trying on that because they look amazing when done properly. I'm also going to try using a bigger/thicker sock for the night time curling - my hair is fine and not as long as some of those I've seen using this method and with the thin sock I used for the bun, the curls would have been quite small if they had worked.

ReplyDeletei usually twist my (long and straight) hair in a super simple bun, using a very simple technique that an indian friend (a young man!) taught me years ago. the best thing about it is that one doesn't need any pins or elastic bands or anything; the hair is simply twisted around on itself in a loop. it always brings back great memories too :)
