The smell of Autumn in the cold air.
Returning to a warm house and a hot cup of tea.
Planning some "heart mittens" to keep little hands warm.
Rediscovering a favourite book from childhood.
"Animals arrived, liked the look of the place, took up their quarters, settled down, spread, and flourished. They didn't bother themselves about the past - they never do; they're too busy."
- Kenneth Grahame, The Wind in the Willows, Ch. 4
Wishing you all a weekend filled with simple pleasures.
I'll be back on Sunday with a YoP update.

I still have a few of my childhood books too thanks to my mum! My girls could care less right now but I'm keepin' them still.
ReplyDeleteI think it's lovely to look back on old books and favourite stories. Many of mine have my name written in the cover in my child's writing which always feels so odd as I can't imagine writing like that now.
DeleteWhen mum moved house earlier in the year, she uncovered many of our old books and some have made their way to the children's bookshelves. My old copy of this wasn't there, and this is a beautiful new edition which is actually much nicer than the well worn paperback I used to have :D
I love that book too, Ill have to dig it out for the kids! Just so you know I do read all your posts, Ive been having trouble posting comments on my ipad/phone not sure why- but very frustrating!!! Hope you are having a great weekend! Jxx
ReplyDeleteThanks Janette, I've been fancying your Dinosaur tute actually :D
