Speechless

I am, quite literally, speechless. It's Pharyngitis - I'm not supposed to use my voice for a few days (!!!!!). It's very quiet here. You'd think it would be the perfect excuse to knit but frankly I haven't the energy to sit up*.

You're probably wondering what this has to do with passports? That's something that has me the OTHER kind of speechless - I can't believe how much it's costing for new passports for the kids. The good news is we have a week in the sun to look forward to in the next few months and we need it because, with just a few days to go until the Solstice, it's blowing a gale out there again tonight and I'm wondering if Summer is ever coming to SE England.

Hope your weekend is better, and to those celebrating - Happy Fathers' Day for tomorrow xxx

*I must remember to tell you about the great iPad blogging app (Blogsy) I'm using to write this from my bed.

  2. I hope you are feeling better soon.
And yes, passports are super expensive, but it's probabley because of the gold print on it (so why costed mine so much?).
I'm enjoying the best days of this year! Sun is out, boring blue sky the whole day, thunderstorm clouds in the evening (beautiful scenery), warm night and there are more sunny days coming.
If only I could bring the winds blowing our weather to you! I can tell you that we had the most beautiful weather in England last summer while the Swiss sky couldn't be seen through the rain.

  4. And do please take the warning not to speak seriously Sarah. Hubby had this, didn't, and didn't get his voice back properly for about two months!!! Feel better, or at least enough better to lie in bed and knit ;D

  6. Oh gosh, you poor thing :S hope you feel better soon.

Thanks so much for the app recommendation! I'm still getting set up on the iPad, but Blogsy looks much easier than the Wordpress app, especially for photos. Much appreciated!

  7. Oh dear! I do hope you feel better soon, when I worked as an LSA in a infant school we had a girl on teacher training in our bold class of 30 five year old's, she totally lost her voice down to a whisper, she must ave gone onto being a brilliant teacher as she still had total control of all the kids, it was a sight to behold! Rest your voice and get yourself a notepad!

I finished my CA, turned out a lot smaller even after blocking than my stripe study, still pretty pleased with it despite very tight edge. I still don't think I'm over my Veera obsession though ;-)
