Very little progress

There are times when projects seem to fly off the needles. Sadly life has been conspiring against any and all plans this week and made hardly any progress had been made at all (on anything!) leaving me exhausted (from the life things) and a tad disheartened about my crafting.
YARNS: EasyKnits Splendor in Flamingo (50% superwash Merino/50% silk)
& Noro Silk Garden Sock in S304 (40% Lambswool/25% Silk/ 25%Nylon/10%Kid Mohair)
NEEDLES: 3.5mm (smaller than the pattern)

After finishing last week's lighthearted whodunnit, I finally succumbed to a book Amazon has been recommending to me for some time (based on previous purchases, I'm guessing) which seems to be a mystery/thriller based around spiritual enlightenment. It's The Fourth Awakening by Rod Pennington and Jeffrey A Martin, the first in a series of novels. Having only read a small number of chapters, I'm not sure what to make of it yet, but the blurb sounds interesting:
"On one level it is a straightforward suspense story with plenty of action, a healthy dose of humor and a pinch of sexual tension. On another it is a spiritual quest by a remarkable woman who meets an enlightened man the likes of which have never been seen in fiction before."
As usual, I'm joining Tami and Ginny today. If you're visiting for the first time this week, you may like to check out my final Blogiversary Giveaway post from yesterday (I can't quite believe the number of entries already - it certainly seems to have hit the spot!) xxxx

  1. I hate when it feels like nothing is making progress :( I'm having a small slump where I have very little motivation to work on anything at the moment. Think I need a new project to revitalise me!

    1. Sorry to hear it .... and kind of glad it's not just me. Maybe it's the time of year. I'm thinking I may cast on the mitts for Knit Now - just one more skein to ball up and I might have to!!!!!

  2. I know the feeling of little progress, I have been too busy working, job hunting and house hunting to do much crochet that is worth blogging about.

Though that project of yours looks very colourful, and I keep wanting to buy a kindle anytime I see yours!!

    1. Well you don't have to just blog about crochet - it's nice to read what you've been up to as well :)

Kindles are awesome - I vote yes!

  3. Your colors are amazing! I'm feeling very stalled out in my project lately too, some weeks (and months!) just seem to be like that.

  4. I know the feeling. Im grieving at the moment and going a bit hyper with housework gardening in fact anything which stops me sitting down to long to think. I went to Merryhill with mom today, it feelt so strange and sad because dad used to come with us. I feel empty. But Im going to try and crack on with knitting (and losing weight put on 2 stone through comfort eating). I love your blogs . Take care.

    1. Victoria, it must be such a difficult time for you right now, especially after your dad's illness which must have become such a focus for you over the last months.

Don't worry about the weight - all that housework will soon take it off again. Focus on what you need to, to get you through.

Take care of yourself and allow yourself the time you need to grieve (((hug)))

  5. Sorry that things are disheartening now. Sounds like you need a good few days off and some mild and sunny weather!

  6. Oh dear, your Spectrum looks far too lovely to be disheartened with! But I know what you mean about having weeks where everything just seems to grind to a halt :S Sometimes life just can't be ignored, I think. Hope you feel more heartened soon.

  8. Ugh, I hate it when Life Stuff makes one feel disheartened about crafting, which should always be joyful and flying off the needles (or hooks). Your spectra is just beautiful, though, I hope it brings you happiness! <3

(Also, your lighthearted whodunit from last week sounds aces, I may have to see if I can find it!)

    1. I am seriously wondering if it's something to do with March - it's been a long grey dark winter and maybe it's just the need for light and sun...?
