Hexilove! (The final blogiversary giveaway....)

Over the last year of blogging, the project I've shared the most has undoubtedly been the Beekeeper's Quilt (probably because after starting it in August, it is still only about 25% done!!!) There is something about those smooshy puffs of loveliness which is irresistible to both Little Miss and myself, and counting them out,  rearranging the colours and generally playing with them is as much fun as knitting them!
Project notes on Ravelry can be found here
I'm up to 140 at the moment, so still a long way to go before there's enough for a quilt, but it'll almost be a shame to attach them together when they are finished - there's so much enjoyment to be had from delving one's hand into a basket full!

When planning the final blogiversary giveaway, it seemed only right that it should be something to do with this project. Thanks to the generosity of Joy at The Knitting Goddess and Stephanie Dosen of Tiny Owl Knits I'm pleased to announce the contents of the final giveaway:
  • a copy of the Beekeeper's Quilt pattern (paper and electronic)
  • a set of 4 x 3.25mm DPNs (I make my hexipuffs using this size, which is slightly smaller than the pattern)
  • a set of gorgeous Knitting Goddess mini-skeins
  • some toy filling to get you started
  • all presented in a (dubiously-sewn) bag which I made for the giveaway using vintage fabric

To be in with a chance to win this prize, simply leave a comment on this post before noon (GMT) on Friday 16th  MARCH!!! ((whoops - the earlier date was a typo!)).
I'm happy to post internationally. Good luck!

  1. You're not sucking me in - I refuse ;)

By which I mean, don't enter me in your giveaway, but I wanted to comment to say how much I love your puff pictures (and still see if I can spot "my puffs" any time you post them!)

  2. Those skeins are just gorgeous but I doubt I could do them justice.

  3. OMGosh what a fabulous prize. I love the bag you made btw, the fabric is gorgeous!

I do love seeing pictures of your puffs. I can totally see me having a basket of them to just smoosh through from time to time.

Happy blogiversary! I don't even know when I started my blog :\ Maybe I should go look.

  15. I saw some puffs for the first time at Unravel (I couldn't resist giving the Skein Queen's blanket a quick squish) and I have to say, I was tempted. But as awesome as they are, I just don't have the time to start on it! So don't enter me for the prize!

I love your puffs, I hope we don't have to wait years before you can reveal the finished blanket in all its glory!

  18. Great giveaway! I've resisted starting a hexipuff blanket so far, but will admit to putting all my odds & ends of sock wool in one place "just in case" :-)
Keep up the good work, I love to see your progress!

  23. I always love to come to your blog to see your hexi puffs. 140 is a huge amount of hexis and I definitely know what you mean about not sewing them together. My kids are having a blast just playing with them - throwing them at eachother, rearranging them, sifting through the bowl with their hands - so much goodness!!

I would love to enter your give away! Those mini skeins are delicious! And the bag you made looks great!

  24. Oooo yes please! Love the fabric you've used for the bag :) maybe even an excuse to give hexipuff's a go! You're so dedicated to your blog - a real inspiration Sarah!

  28. I still love those little puffs and have avoided the temptation. But with a starter kit how could I say no?

    Thanks for another great giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I thought I was the only person in blogland to have avoided the temptation of the puff. Obviously I was wrong with all these entries. Still I can keep my fingers crossed that the popularity of the pattern keeps the entries down.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I really enjoy reading your blog. I hope I'm the lucky one!

  31. Ooh yes please, put me in! I have resisted the puffs so far but maybe not for much longer :-D Thank you for your gorgeous, inspirational blog Sarah: it brightens up many a dull day for me x

  38. Good morning Sarah

Will you ever sew them together? They seem to be a fun toy just how they are. There are so many possibilities now ...

    Wish you a good day!

  39. I would love to be part of this give away, as I have always been curious at the idea of making hexipuffs as they are so cute looking!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Your quilt will be fabulous when it is finished. I doubt whether I could make one as neat as yours as my tension has a life of it's own ... but I am going to try. You have produced a wonderful giveaway, please count me in. Thanks x

    ReplyDelete
  41. Can't wait to see the completed quilt, your colours are beautiful. I love the idea of it because my sewing skills are pretty hopeless but as this is a knitted quilt I'm in with half a chance of being able to do it :).

    ReplyDelete
  42. Ooooh Sarah how delicious!! Please could you pop my name in the hat?! Happy blogiversary, you have done so many wonderful things in the last year, and you always present your posts so gorgeously. I dream that my blog will one day be up to your standards! xxxxx

  43. What a brilliant way to use up surplus balls of wool after knitting/crochet projects have been completed. I have always looked at lovely but useless small balls of wool and wondered what I could make, which is small enough to contribute to a worthwhile project. Thank you for the inspiration :) x x

Great giveaway - I missed the deadline for the last one so thought I would do this one straight away! Your blog almost made me travel over 200 miles to unravel but the lack of sleep from 4 month old baby stopped me the night before - always next year! When I can find my feet (and needles) I am so hexi puffing......

  45. I've just learned to master the art of dpn's, having been scared of them for most of my knitting life. What a revelation! I've loved following the progress of your beekeeper's quilt and can think of no better excuse for my using the dpn's now so please add my name along with everyone else's in that hat!

    Kate :-)

  53. I have been eyeing the pattern for sometime. I have the crochet pattern but it does not turn out as nice as the knitted puffs do. So please enter me in your give away. I love the colors of the mini skeins and the bag is fab! I don't know how you resist putting some of the puffs together to just see how it is going. You have more restraint then I do. LOL

  54. WOW! Great giveaway.
I'm entering because 16th March is my birthday and it's going to be a sad and lonely affair since separating with my husband... learning to knit will give me a new project to sink my teeth into to distract my mind & winning the kit to get started will make it easier to start.
Not only that... I'm desperate to create something beautiful just so I can post pics like Sarah!
