Hello everyone! I hope this update finds you all well. Thank you so much for all your lovely comments on my last few posts, and for the Awards I have been given by some lovely fellow-bloggers *kiss*. I'm afraid I haven't yet managed to get back to everyone who has been kind enough to leave a message as I don't seem to have had much online time lately, but I do read ALL of your comments and have managed to check out lots of your wonderful blogs too, even if I haven't commented on all of them. (I often have trouble with Disqus and with the captcha spam prevention thingamies when I'm reading on a mobile device.)
Anyway, what an absolute scorcher of a weekend we had here - more like mid-August than October. Quite unbelievable weather, and no-doubt related to the fact that I recently purchased a very warm Winter coat, which now remains in the cupboard with the labels on! Being outdoors more than expected - and increasing my weekly exercise classes - has meant I'm behind on my planned posts, but after thinking/talking about it for months, I did actually put together a little end-of-month Mosaic.
September in Pictures
For Little Miss and I, the month was mostly about hexipuffs and conkers - with a few minor distractions thrown into the mix. Meanwhile, My Boy has been back at school for 4 weeks and learning about Superheroes....
"Superman" |
The resident workaholic has been working flat-out for the BBC and at weekends/evenings, he's been finishing the Superman:Requiem fanfilm edit (which premieres next month). We haven't had much "family" time at all. I really hope we will be able to look back on this period as having been worth the sacrifice and exhaustion.
October is going to be a time for a little shake-up. I need to re-jig my Year of Projects list and get organised for Kids Clothes Week Challenge which starts next Monday. I have so many things I want to make, but need to be realistic! I also have a really fun book I'd like to tell you about. And some new yarn. Some fabulous blogs to recommend, and a whole new hexipuff palette! Alas, these will all have to wait, as yet again I have to feed hungry hoards.... what do you mean there are only two children? They eat enough for at least a dozen!
I'll be back tomorrow for the One a Day update, that'll be a good starting point. In the meantime, I shall leave you with a song by Adele. In the future, when I look back on this time, I'm sure that her album '21' will be the music to accompany these memories - yes, it's been overplayed and it's everywhere but I still love it. Enjoy!
It sure has been lovely hasn't it? I thought it was me packing my summer clothes away was the reason but it may have been your winter coat ;)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous mosaic but most of all I LOVE the super hero picture, totally precious.
xx
Sounds like you've had a lot on your plate. Despite my boys being back in school four weeks, i've still not got not any decent routine! I keep thinking right, it's Monday, I must get my act together and then something happens and ooops, I'm off track again!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing you shake things up a bit, I could do with some of that myself! Your kids clothes thing sounds interesting.
Enjoy the sun and family time!
Hi Sarah...it does you good to have a little re-jiggly-ing occasionally and these season changes usualy bring on a few jiggles! I'm looking forward to hearing about the changes, the yarn and the book... be back tomorrow! :)x
ReplyDeleteI have a queue, and I try to stick with it, but I keep adding to it! It's getting hard to follow it. And now I need to find a knit to take on a plane ride and I am paralyzed with making the decision. What if I don't like what I pick. I need something that has no need of scissors or color changes. OK, shawl. But, which one! the one that has you cast on 50 million sts? Or the one you start at the neck and increase as you go? Argh!!!
ReplyDeleteLoving the colours in your mosaic, youve been so busy! I have trouble with the spam stoppers too on my ipad its near impossible to comment sometimes. Have a great week! Janette
