With a nip in the air and the kids heading back to school, Hallowe'en is fast approaching. I was sent a couple of spooky craft books to review and I think you might like them!
Witch Craft is a compilation of projects from crafters (and bloggers) across the globe. It includes some great ideas ranging from simple spooky foods - perfect for a party - through to knitting, crochet and sewing projects. I especially like the bat and the ghost croutons and think these will both be making an appearance in our house!
There is something for all the family in this book - including things for children to do (with adult supervision). Instructions are clear and straightforward and there are lots of colour pictures. This is the sort of book you could enjoy coming back to year after year.
Creepy Cute Crochet is more niche, featuring 21 crochet creatures of various levels of difficulty. Some are for beginners although I think the book would probably be appreciated more by someone with some crochet experience, however I'm sure there is enough information for a patient crochet-virgin to figure it all out. Here they all are - I'm particularly fond of the little Knight (he's SO cute!)
Written and charted instructions are included, although the charts are quite small - or that could just be my ageing eyes.... Illustrations are cute and there are lots of details for each project as well as general more basic instructions at the front of the book. In short, this book is exactly what is says 'on the tin' - they are cute, mostly creepy and crocheted!
I've decided to give BOTH these great hardcover books to one of my lovely followers, so if you'd like to be in with a chance to win all you need to do is leave a comment on this post (if you're not already a "follower", you'll also need to click on the "join this site' button to your right). I'll be selecting a winner on Monday 12th September so wherever you are, you should have them in time to make some wonderfully ghoulish things this Hallowe'en!

ReplyDeleteGreat givaway, the creepy cute creatures are especially cute, although I'm not so good at knitting to deadlines - I guess that's why we have the same things (halloween, christmas, valentines) every year so I stand a chance of getting things done for one year or another!

ReplyDeleteLove this blog...have been reading it for a while. I'm relatively new to crochet, and fill every spare moment with hooking. Patterns still baffle me a little though, and I end up frogging more than I crochet! Still, autumn is approaching, and the nights are already drawing in....more time to hook!!
