Happy Friday! For those who missed my earlier post, today is the first day of A Year of Projects. It's essentially a group of knitters and crocheters on Ravelry who will be listing the items they intend to complete before 30th June 2012, and will be posting regular (Sunday) updates. From participating in 'Work in Progress Wednesdays' and 'Finished Object Fridays' via Tami's Amis I know how input, tips and encouragement from others can add a different dimension to the solitary acts of knitting and crochet, and it's also good to have a deadline - particularly on large projects that could just go on and on, so I'm looking forward to this one immensely.
After several revisions, here is the final list in no particular order (although some patterns may be switched) you can click the link to view the pictures on my Pinterest board.

- 2 x children's hats - probably the Hudson Hat from Family Roots Fibres
- Easter Chicks possibly Chubby Chirps by Rebecca Danger
- Sitting Room Crochet Throw - something like this Sunny Spread

- A crochet shawl - possibly the Sweet Pea Shawl from Amie Hirtes in the Happy Hooker book.
I've tried to keep the list manageable but there are just so many lovely things to make. I hope I can get them all done. There will be an update on these each Sunday and you can find the other participants here, and if you're visiting for the first time from that group - HELLO! *wave*
Great list Sarah, loads of variety.
ReplyDeleteFantastic list. I've got mine whizzing around in my head - how many should I go for, which ones blah de blah.... Hope you dont mind but I've used your button after seeing it on the ravelry thread last night. How do you get a screen shot - that is very clever xx
ReplyDeleteClare, I use a Mac so it's Cmd, Shift & 4 to select the area you want. I haven't used a PC in half a decade so I can't help with that - isn't there a print screen key?
ReplyDeleteFable looks gorgeous! Another one for my Rav queue!
ReplyDeleteI've got the sweet pea shawl on my list; just need to get the book back from my colleague so I can get started on it!
wow - lovely list! Have fun with all of those :)
ReplyDeleteThe prtsc button will do a screenshot on a pc, you can then paste (CTRL V) the image into another application, and it can be cropped to size in any basic graphic package.
Lots of work there. I don't think there is any point to my doing a list as my to-do list changes every time I get to markets.
ReplyDeleteI so need to practice my crochet and knitting more, your list looks fab
ReplyDeleteI love the fingerless mitts. I have a thing for the fingerless mitts though. My raverly is full of fingerless mitts I dream of making. XD
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely list. I could never participate in anything like this, my head is full of ideas which I usually never get round to making. The idea of committing to a list of makes is very, very scary........
ReplyDeleteGood luck and happy making!
A beautiful list--you make me want to take on the art of crochet.. That little hanging bird is to die for!
ReplyDeleteHappy Creating....
Such fun and such lovely projects! I'm a fan of Jennifer Lang's designs and really like Fable. Happy Knitting!
ReplyDeleteOooh I have just finished number one on your list and it was a lovely knit! I wish I had an extra 100gms of wool to make it bigger though, but still loving it!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go and have a look at your pinterest board for a visual peruse of your future year!
Have a lovely sunday XXXXX
You have such a terrific variety on your challenge list here. Love how you included your babies as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your comments. I'm quite excited about some of the things on my list :D
ReplyDeleteLovely list. I made the sweetpea shawl for my MIL (my first 'big' project) and really enjoyed the pattern.
