...71 squares and counting!
I planned to make 100 and then a fairly wide border, but I'm not sure whether 100 will be enough, so I'm going to see how it goes. Laying them out like this, I realise the hardest thing will be deciding the order to attach them together. And that I'm not that fond of red.
Nothing else has had any attention this week so that's it from me. If you'd like to see what others are up to, take a peek at the links at Tami's Amis.
So colourful! Those pictures have really cheered me up this morning, as all I have to look at out of my window is grey clouds.
ReplyDeleteI think the red works on the inner rounds of the squares - it's the squares where red is the final border colour that don't seem to quite match the others.
Wow - what a lot of progress, and so colourful! It looks fab!
ReplyDeleteI finally managed to get pictures on my post, after a lot of frustrated shouting at blogger ;)
They look amazing sarah!! :) xxx

ReplyDeleteTotally gorgeous! It's going to be stunning when it's finished.

ReplyDeleteSeriously gorgeous!! You have a great sense of color.
ReplyDeleteLOL, not the time to figure out you're not fond of a color. But the colors are going together nicely. Great job.
ReplyDeleteI love, love, LOVE your Granny Squares. And well done on making them so quickly! I can't wait to see them all sewn up! :)

ReplyDeleteOMG!!!!! You ROCK!!!!! It's hard for me to believe you just started to crochet a few months ago. Wowzers!!!! Can't wait to see this project done. With all the rain in my next of the woods, the colours are soooooo cherry.
ReplyDeleteI like the red. I can't believe how much progress you have made - it's going to be finished in no time.
ReplyDeleteWow, I love this! I really wish I could master crochet just so I could make a granny square blanket, but sadly I have tried and failed. However, beautiful work like this really inspires me to try again. I adore how colourful it is!
ReplyDeleteAmazing. I cant believe the speed at which you have created them. Truly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt looks really nice! Bet it'll look stunning when it's done! :)
ReplyDeleteI love those colors. You're making me want to try crochet. Can't wait to see the finished product!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely! It reminds me of that jewelry that looks like hundreds of tiny plastic flowers in a little case. Wish I knew what that was called :/
ReplyDeleteLooking wonderful!! Loving the colors- so bright and happy!
ReplyDelete(To Spinster Beth- I think you're thinking of Millefiori?)
WOW, that looks so pretty!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard for me to feel gloomy looking at it.
Is this a gift for someone?
They look gorgeous, I'm just starting to learn how to do the granny squares, yours are very inspiring.

your grannies are looking terrific and so colourful, I love them and the red ones look absolutely awesome and make those squares pop!
ReplyDeleteI read your disaster story, oh my, but the pattern and the yarn, I love them! I'm wondering if my knitting skills are up to that pattern yet, I'm not sure but I want to try!
Have a happy friday!

ReplyDeleteThanks for all the lovely comments!
ReplyDelete@wypad - It's actually going to be for our home - we moved in 1.5 years ago and did the basics (it's a big boxy new style house and devoid of much character), it could do with being more homely and having more of "us" in the rooms, so I have a few things planned to make it nicer here :)
I've actually been having some time off it the last couple of days - catching up with other things. And now I'm missing it - so I'll be back to it tomorrow!
@Alice - you are a GREAT knitter and could definitely make that pattern! I haven't even attempted a sock yet and you're a sock-master! You could definitely do it!!!
Wow! that's a bunch of grannies! Love all the colors.
ReplyDeleteThe colors are beautiful and oh-so-happy! I too am in awe of how many you made in just a week.
ReplyDeleteAwesome granny squares! That's going to be so cool!
