I am not a natural seamstress. I'd like to be - the gratification is much faster than knitting, but sadly I'm just not terribly good at it. (My preferred style of bodging things and making adjustments as I go along doesn't work as well with sewing!) However, there have been a couple of little Clothkits waiting in my sewing box for several months so last night, with nothing on my needles, I decided to have a go. I gathered everything I needed...
Cut out all the pieces and tacked them together...
And this morning, when everyone was up (rude to get a sewing machine out when everyone else is in bed, no?) I sewed it together. I wouldn't say it's a resounding success, it's not perfect and will probably only be used in the garden, but it is cute and the kit and instructions were easy to follow. Next time I'll try something with less roundness - round seams are not my forte! I think an adult sized skirt or something with long straight seams will be much better. This is the only action shot I've managed so far - it's much too big, so I doubt there will be another for some time!
awww, it looks lovely. i'm terrible at sewing, i just can't make it go where i want it to go.
